Kami
There are many and many kami in Japan. It’s said “8 million kami”.
There are many kinds of Kami, they are everywhere and dwells in anything.
Kami tie something to something, as to combine electrons, protons and neutrons into atoms, or like grativity than bonds us with the earth. ⇒Goen
We, human being, are all descendants of Kami, not limited to persons who became Kami.
As parents think of their childrem and children look after their parents, people respect Kami and Kami protect people and make them happy.
Archives like Bible
There is no kind of canon or Bible in Shinto.
However, some ancient documents called “Shinten神典” are considered important for Shinto.
Kojiki, the oldest history and science book
One of them, Kojiki(Furukotofumi)古事記, is the oldest history book in Japan that describes the history from the creation of the universe.
The creation of the universe described in Kojiki is the almost same content as the Superstring theory, BIG BANG and Birth of the Earth and Planets, which are the latest theories of astrophysics and Planetary science. For details, please read Mutsuhiro Takeda’s book.

Shinto requires a clean state, because dirt(Tsumi Kegare) reduces your energy. So, always clean your body and your surroundings. You can take exorcism when praying, and self-exorcise by shaking oonusa, salt or hands to the left shoulder, right shoulder, left shoulde
